USAPI REGIONAL IMPACT

Increasing connectedness & fostering shared problem solving with USAPI regional collaborators

In-person convenings and learning networks are critial to supporting regional collaboration between states and territories across the Pacific region. By bringing Pacific Island leaders together in a dedicated space, CHLI’s Workforce Pathways for the Public’s Health - PHIG initiative fosters partnerships, shared problem solving, and the dissemination of resources and best practices for supporting island health systems.

“The overall convening was very effective due to the smaller, more intimate group size, […] topics were relevant to the work we are doing, and the networking was really helpful in connecting with others who are successfully implementing promising practices [and] to see similarities with other jurisdictions’ struggles.”

“Concurrent session as it relates to our workforce planning. The strategy presented provided in depth insights to Hawaii’s approach to workforce capacity by forecasting data analytics.”

Measuring the impact of island-focused efforts

HIPHI and Otowi Group co-facilitate the T/FAS Peer Evaluator Network to support PHIG evaluators in the Pacific and Atlantic territories and freely associated states in strengthening evaluation capacity and advancing their Targeted Evaluation Plans (TEPs).

The quarterly virtual sessions align with the National Evaluators Peer Network while ensuring content and discussions are tailored to the unique contexts and priorities of the Islands. The sessions offer a structured space for peer learning and support, focusing on TEP development, requirements, challenges, and evaluation best practices. This space also provides attendees with opportunities to connect closely with evaluation subject matter experts.
