ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Building community resiliency in response to COVID-19
Through our partnership with AmeriCorps, we enhance capacity and build sustainability within organizations working to address the wide-ranging impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in high-poverty communities and increase community resiliency.
AmeriCorps members help save lives at the front lines of COVID-19
Up to 23 service members and two leaders will be placed within organizations and programs that help those who have been most impacted by the social and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. AmeriCorps members support PHI programs and community-based partner organizations working at the front lines of far-reaching and innovative efforts.

Together Toward Health
This program supports education, awareness, and outreach to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, increase vaccine awareness and uptake, and provide workforce development strategies to strengthen economic resilience.

Leadership Academy for the Public's Health
This program supports cross-sector coalitions to “pivot” their work to COVID-related activities such as data collection and analysis, evaluation, and communications.

Oregon Public Health Institute
This program helps by addressing the social determinants of the COVID-19 pandemic, providing communication and train-the-trainer supports for projects related to economic resilience in community health workers and Black childcare workers.

FACES for the Future Coalition
Through this program, AmeriCorps members will serve with designated Public Health Youth Corps sites in California to provide support services in high needs areas, including peer education and wraparound support services related to vaccine hesitancy and barriers to vaccine administration.
