Leap Into PHIG: Region 9 PHIG Technical Assistance Launch

Discover training and technical assistance offerings available to PHIG-funded health departments in Region 9 and nationally.
This free, one-day virtual event is presented by the PHI Center for Health Leadership & Impact in partnership with the National Network of Public Health Institutes. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the CDC’s PHIG technical assistance request process and network and collaborate with others working on the PHIG initiatives.

Workforce Resilience: What Our Teams are Facing and How We Can Support Them
Cypress Resilience Project
This session explores how the workforce is being impacted by toxic stress and burn-out. Participants review what happens in the brain during times of extreme stress and how that impacts individual and community well-being and health outcomes. The workshop will then turn its attention to exploring what it truly means to be “trauma informed” and how that work is required on all levels of organizations to support the workforce.
Data for Impact: Innovative Approaches to Use Data for Change
PHI Center for Wellness and Nutrition
During this one-hour interactive and participatory session, the presenters will share techniques to communicate program data, list tips and techniques for visualizing data effectively, and communicate how asset framing and ethical storytelling can help to enhance sharing program successes.

Presented by Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, Public Health Accreditation Board, and National Network of Public Health Institutes
This 30-minute panel presentation shares upcoming technical assistance opportunities available to PHIG recipients across the country, as well as highlighting data on technical assistance offerings during PHIG Year 1, including the reach, availability, and utilization of assistance opportunities by health departments.
