Welcome
Summer is here, ushering in opportunities for us to celebrate communities and amplify the voices of those we serve. This month, we celebrate Juneteenth and Pride, which serve as a reminder to reflect, educate ourselves, and learn more about the history of different communities. Remember that health is important and should be accessible to all populations, including African Americans and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
This is a reminder that our upcoming Monthly Learning Network (MLN) session will be on the 10 Pillars of Public Health, presented by Amy Max. We look forward to seeing you there as the MLNs are designed to empower you with professional development and resources. We encourage you to engage in the resources and events we offer this month, as they will enrich your AmeriCorps service.
As always, you have a support system throughout your service. As VISTA Leads, we are here to provide you with support, resources, and space to chat if needed. Please feel free to reach out!
We encourage you to engage with the resources, events, and free Telehealth services available to you. Also, reach out to your VISTA Leads, who are here to support you throughout service!
Yours in service,

Upcoming Events
Click here for a breakdown of the CHLI AmeriCorps VISTA Hub events and attendance requirements.
Monthly Learning Networks (MLNs)
Monthly Learning Networks (MLNs) are professional development webinars designed for service members. These occur on the third Wednesday of the month at 11:30 am PST. Members are required to attend all MLNs. Please ensure your supervisors know you must attend these sessions as a required part of your service.
Coffee Breaks
Coffee Breaks are optional virtual meetings for AmeriCorps VISTA members to hang out, connect, and chat with others and the Leads.
VISTA Professional Development Series
The VISTA Professional Development Series is CHLI’s newest offering for AmeriCorps VISTA members. These hands-on, informal professional development sessions focus on small group conversations to help you navigate career and academic opportunities. Topics will include resume writing, interview skills, funding your education, and more. Members are required to attend three sessions during their year of service. Members may select which sessions to attend and are encouraged to attend any session that is relevant to their future goals.
Quarterly Check-ins
Members are scheduled for check-in calls with their Leads every three months. Your Leads will contact you during your scheduled month to arrange a time for a 30-minute call. These check-ins are a required part of your service.
VISTA Hub Winter Convening - Required
The next bi-annual convening has been scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 9:30AM to 4:00PM PT. The VISTA Hub Convening is a full-day, virtual event that is similar to a mini conference. This event is just for AmeriCorps members sponsored by CHLI. The convening offers an opportunity for members to learn and connect with one another. As a reminder, attendance is a required component of your AmeriCorps VISTA service. Be sure to check your emails for Zoom links and calendar invites.
